Professional Experience
Mr. Kahane is the founder of Forensic Analytical. Established in 1986, Forensic Analytical has provided consulting and analysis in the Environmental Health and Forensic Sciences. He interfaces with executive directors, managers, supervisors and other staff regarding technical, operational, and business development excellence within the organization. He possesses technical expertise on exposures to toxins within the built environment, including asbestos, heavy metals, microbiologicals, pesticides and VOC’s,
Mr. Kahane performs industrial hygiene and indoor air quality investigations, statistical evaluations, experimental design, exposure assessments and litigation support. He is frequently requested to lecture on sampling and analytical issues related to toxins in the built environment by universities, professional associations, and industry trade groups. Mr. Kahane has been actively involved in professional associations, providing leadership and input at the committee and board level to help shape policy and provide guidance on regulatory issues within the field of industrial hygiene.
Prior to founding Forensic Analytical, Mr. Kahane worked as a consultant to toxicologists, occupational medical doctors, and industrial hygienists in the Washington D.C. area, covering a range of investigation and research related to occupational exposures. Mr. Kahane possesses extensive expertise in the sampling and analysis of: asbestos in various matrices; heavy metals in various matrices; PCBs and pesticides in biological tissue, transformer oils, air, and soil; bioaerosols, including fungi and bacteria; trace evidence routinely screened in criminal or civil casework.
